We are seeking skilled volunteers to join our People and Culture Committee. We are looking for individuals who both have a passionate for youth and experience in the following areas:

Organizational culture development Human resources Organizational behavior Or similar a field

Committee Purpose:

The People and Culture Committee functions to help set direction regarding culture building, organizational behavior analysis, staff and volunteer recruitment and development, and developing systems that ensure proper staff placement.

Committee Roles and Responsibilities:

Recommend ways to create systems to assess and improve the work environment to enhance team effectiveness and workplace culture. Offer advice and guidance on creating a strength-based culture that will lead to a positive work environment. Determine methods to conduct, analyze, and improve upon organizational behavior initiatives. Review and offer feedback for improvement on the organization’s current performance review processes. Explore various staff and volunteer recruitment and development approaches that support personal and organizational empowerment. Investigate ways to meaningfully reward staff and volunteers. Engage in advocacy and networking. Participate in annual special events and other org-wide fundraising activities. Develop an annual calendar for the committee’s activities, including critical dates, milestones and required board actions. Provide the Board with reports summarizing the PCC’s activities from the previous year and plans for the year to come. Provide report out during full Board meetings (Committee Chair)

Ensure that programming is aligned and consistent with the organizational purpose and mission. Provide guidance that strengthens the academic and social-emotional quality of programming. Recommend various financial literacy curriculums that can be delivered via in-person and/or online. Seek out and connect the organization with community partners who are interested in facilitating club offering both in-person and online. Provide advice for conducting, analyzing, and improving upon annual program evaluations and quality assessments. Give suggested direction regarding program improvement. Provide advice for conducting and analyzing student, family, school, and staff, engagement surveys. Give guidance on how to best utilize feedback from annual engagement surveys and program evaluations. Investigate various systems or platforms that would simplify general program logistics. Identify missing programmatic policies and processors that need to be adopted. Engage in advocacy and networking. Participate in annual special events and other org-wide fundraising activities. Develop an annual calendar for the committee’s activities, including critical dates, milestones and required board actions. Develop an annual calendar for the committee’s activities, including critical dates, milestones and required board actions Participate in annual special events and other org-wide fundraising activities. Review and offer feedback on the organizations current ways for promoting community outreach and engagement. Investigate trends and best practices regarding community outreach and engagement. Engage in advocacy and networking. Identify new strategies and resources that will help foster and promote a positive and productive relationships with community members. Recommend ways that various communication tools and platforms can be used to educate and inform community members about the efforts being undertaken by the organization to support student learning and staff development. Offer advice and guidance about how the organization can successfully sustain community interest and engagement in its work. Provide the Board with quarterly reports summarizing the COEC’s activities from the previous year and plans for the year to come. Provide report out during full Board meetings (Committee Chair)

We are seeking a passionate individual who has a heart for the youth of Wayne county to join our team of Board Directors. We are looking for someone with the time and desire for long-term engagement with us. The Board of Directors provide strategic leadership as we transitions from a newly formed 501(c)(3) organization into a established sustainable entity. Members of the board diligently work to support and sustain the work of the Organization and to provide governance leadership and strategic fundraising support.
Specific duties include; but are not limited to:

Assisting with developing and maintaining relationships with funders, partners, and other stakeholders. Approving Forward Youth's annual budget and audit reports. Playing a major role in making collectively organizational decisions. Assisting with generating substantial revenue in collaboration with other board members, to ensure Forward Youth’s overall financial health. Attending and actively participating in quarterly board meetings.

Position Functions/Board Terms:
Board members are asked to commit at least 2-5 hours per month. This position is volunteer in nature and is non-compensated. Board meetings will be held quarterly. Board Directors will be asked to attend board meetings in person or via video conference. Directors will be asked to review meeting agendas and supporting materials prior to meetings. Board members are asked to stay abreast to Forward Youth’s mission, vision, services, policies, and programs. Board members will serve as an ambassador for the organization, are asked to follow conflict of interest and confidentiality policies, and to always carry out fiduciary responsibilities.
