Who We Are
Mission: To provide comprehensive print and electronic collections, and innovative technologies and programming designed to enrich life, stimulate intellectual curiosity, and encourage life-long learning.
The Pontiac Public Library opened in 1924. Its current location (open since 1959) is on 60 East Pike Street in Pontiac MI, on the corner of Pike Street and Woodward Avenue, across from the Pontiac City Hall. The library services a population of approximately 60,000 residents.
What We Do
The library offers a wide range of services, including comprehensive print and electronic collections, innovative technologies, and diverse programming for all age groups. Patrons can access digital resources such as educational games for children, e-books, audiobooks, music, movies, and TV shows through platforms like ABCmouse, Libby, Freegal, TumbleBooks, TeenBookCloud, AudioBookCloud, and Hoopla. The library also provides proctoring and notary services, with specific guidelines and fees detailed on their website.
