United Way for Southeastern Michigan believes learning begins at birth and that every child is entitled to a nurturing environment and a high-quality education that prepares them for success. We convene schools, community members and business leaders to integrate work-based learning experiences and rigorous academics to put power behind students’ diplomas.
The Career Exploration Fair is a space for high school freshmen throughout the City of Detroit to:

Engage in meaningful activities to plan for life

Interactively engage and build career awareness

Build additional skillsets in real-time that connect life, learning, and high school--as well as college and career pathways
We are looking for 150 Volunteers who are comfortable engaging with youth ages 14-15 year old. Volunteers will support wayfinding, help with student check-in, assist workshop facilitators, and guide students in the Service Learning Lab.
Volunteer Training: There will be an in-person training prior to the day of the event to review the entire program and help prepare volunteers.
