United Way for Southeastern Michigan believes learning begins at birth and that every child is entitled to a nurturing environment and a high-quality education that prepares them for success.
Join United Way at Focus: Hope where volunteers will be helping with a variety of projects, including sorting books, building Bookshare Box Libraries, and cleaning and beautification around Focus: HOPE's campus. The bookshare boxes will include 100 children’s books and will be distributed to nonprofits in the Metro Detroit area.
Volunteer tasks include:
- Painting the book crates
- Cutting out bookmarks, writing encouragement notes and placing a bookmark in each book
- Sorting and organizing books
- Stuffing the crates with books
- Additional cleaning/organizing projects
This project is family-friendly and all volunteers under the age of 18 will need a signed volunteer release form from a parent or guardian. If you plan to bring children under the age of 18, please enter each child's first and last name, along with their age, in the Notes section of the Response page.
