Head for the Cure raises funds, awareness and hope for the brain tumor community! We support research at Hermelin Brain Tumor Center at Henry Ford. We need volunteers for our upcoming 5K event on Sept. 22!
Volunteer Roles:
- Set Up: This station is responsible for table set up, signage, and general set up before the race starts.
- Parking Attendants: This station is responsible for helping direct traffic before the race begins.
- Green Team: This station helps HFTC with trash and recycling of plastic, cans, etc.
- Team Village: This station helps the Team Village with set up and break down of tables and signs and directing team members to their team area.
- Registration: This station helps us get people registered on race day morning!
- Packet Pickup: This station applies to packet pickup held prior to the race as well as the morning of. Volunteers will help hand out packets and t-shirts to registered participants.
- Hospitality: This helps prepare, replenish, and serve the food and beverages we provide at our events.
- Volunteer Check-In/Info Center: This station makes sure all volunteers know where to go to their stations and provides information regarding each volunteer job.
- Water Stops: This station oversees placing all water, cups, and troughs at the water stops.
- Course Monitors: This station is responsible for monitoring and making sure the runners stay on course.
- Finish Line: This station is responsible for assisting the race director with scoring chips and other duties needed at the finish line.
- Kids Zone: This station helps with any kid activities we have at the event (face painting, sidewalk chalk, yard games) as well as with the kids run, which takes places once the 5K run/walk is finished.
- Clean Up: This station is responsible for cleaning up trash, tearing down tables, chairs, and banners. With a lot of hands, clean up can go by quickly!
