The second annual Community Feast, hosted by Make Food Not Waste, is a free, one-day event centered around a communal meal for 5,000 people made from top quality food that would otherwise be wasted. the day also includes demonstrations, chef competitions, exhibits, and hands-on activities to give people the knowledge and encouragement they need to waste less food. The event concludes with the Detroit Food Policy Council Food Power Awards.
Volunteer roles include:
- Kitchen Assistants and Food Runners
- Welcoming attendees to exhibits and activities
- Asking attendees to complete surveys
- Assisting with waste stations
- Wayfinding
