Join United Way for our monthly community project for September!
In coordination with Detroit Rescue Mission Ministries and Wayne Metro, the Big Glen Garden has served hundreds of thousands servings of fresh produce to the local community and rescue missions in Detroit and Highland Park.
By 2020, the garden aims to produce 500 thousand servings of fresh vegetables per season, and this cannot be done without the help of volunteers.
Volunteers will help with any seasonal work that needs to be completed in the garden, this may include planting, pruning, harvesting, weeding, bed maintenance, general clean up, and more.
Volunteers should wear close-toed shoes and clothes that can get dirty. Volunteers may also bring their own work gloves if they would like.
