Join United Way for Southeastern Michigan for our monthly community project at Focus: Hope!
The Commodity Supplemental Food Program, established in 1971, assists mothers, children up to age 6, and low income senior citizens age 60 and older. In 40 years, Focus: HOPE has been instrumental in providing canned and packaged food for 21 million people who struggle to survive on meager incomes.
Volunteers that participate will be in packing food boxes for those in need and associated tasks.
Volunteer Clothing Attire: We suggest volunteers dress comfortably and wear comfortable shoes (Keep in mind that the temperature inside the building may be cool during the cold months and hot during the warmer months.) No open toe shoes, jogging pants, shorts, tank tops, or sleeveless shirts.
Additional Information: There are no storage areas or lockers available at the Westside Food Center. Please keep this in mind when bringing personal items.
* Youth under the age of 14 will not be permitted to volunteer, anyone ages 14-17 must be accompanied by a chaperone, parent or guardian at all times.
