Description

Dally in the Alley is Detroit's largest annual community festival. Highlighting small local businesses, musicians, artists, and more, this event highlights much of the best of Detroit's community!

Dally in the Alley is organized by a team of dedicated community volunteers - but more volunteers are needed to help ensure the event goes smoothly!

While the event takes place on Saturday, September 10, volunteers are also needed on the days before and day for setup and clean up. 

The volunteer duties and shifts are listed below:

Friday, September 9

  • 6:00pm-10:00pm: Festival setup - Helping setup fencing, marking spots for vendors, etc.

Saturday, September 10

  • 9:00am-11:00am: Final setup - setting up the community stage, setting up chairs, placing trash bins, etc.
  • 11:00am-2:00pm: Assisting with kids fair, assisting with the community stage, running beer cups to beer booths and beer gardens, helping out with main music stages, monitoring trash bins and separating recycling from trash.
  • 2:00pm-5:00pm: Same as 11:00am-2:00pm shift
  • 5:00pm-8:00pm: Same as earlier shifts and cleaning up the kids fair
  • 8:00pm-11:00pm: Same as earlier shifts

Sunday, September 11

  • 9:00am-12:00pm: Assisting our partners in cleaning up the alley and surrounding footprint, including moving and packing up tables and chairs, retrieving fencing, assisting chair volunteer members in the cleanup process.

Volunteers should dress comfortably for the weather. Volunteers will be given lanyards.
